Libopt has been registered at APP under the number ...

The current version of the package is version 2.1 (January, 2009).

Libopt can actually be retrieved by one of the following two manners.

• The first possibility is to get the package from the Inria GForge, thanks to an anonymous access. To do this, go on your system into the directory where Libopt should be placed (this should be a directory shared by the potential users) and enter the svn command

  svn co svn://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/libopt-public libopt

  Note that the repository directory is libopt-public, while the above command installs Libopt locally in the directory libopt.

  This procedure requires to have svn installed on one's system. It makes the future updates of the software easy, since to get the latest version, it will suffice to enter

  svn update

  in the local libopt directory.

• The other possibility is to retrieve a tarball and to unpack it, using successively the commands gunzip and tar.

Once the software has been retrieved by one of these two methods, read the README file in the head directory of the Libopt hierarchy to have more information on the software, in particular on the installation procedure.
