Description
Given two shapes, an axis is defined inside each shape. This
axis is
used to guide the transformation. As the definition of an axis can be a
complex task, we have developped a method to compute an axis inside a
polyhedral
shape.
Skeletal curves are constructed from a set of scattered data
points
lying on a surface. These curves may have a tree like structure to
capture
branching shapes. They can be used for different applications ranging
from
surface reconstruction to object recognition.
To build this curves, we have extended the method computing an axis
inside a polyhedral shape to the case of shapes described by a set of
unorganized
points.
